Good morning, Blog Buds!
I should be caught up on my Belle Calhoune novels by the end of summer! I am determined. I think there’s like two more, which I might have to get as eBooks. HER SECRET ALASKAN FAMILY at Harlequin
Please remember to buy your books directly from the publisher if you can! This is how the author receives her full Royalty, so she can feed her family. Very few authors actually get paid enough to quit their day jobs. We can’t all be Philippa Gregory, you know. Don’t worry, I didn’t forget her either.
Bookmobiles are vital to rural communities. Personally, I think it would be a great job, driving around Hobbiton surrounded by all those books. Also, it’s a cozy mystery with cats. BOOKING THE CROOK at Penquin Random
I’m mostly off-line during the summer, as I prefer the glories of the great outdoors, specifically the mountains and lakes and peace and quiet, far from the maddening crowds.
So I read a lot of books. I will be reviewing some too. Maybe I’ll post them during visits to the modern world, maybe not. I have to do tons of stuff for others all year long and in the summer I do what I want. Mostly.
This is a beautiful cover, but the UK cover is much more gorgeous! I’m also a bit of a grumpy brat when I can’t own the prettier covers. Anyway, you know how fascinated I am with Tudor England. I always forget how many Ls are in Philippa’s name. She has some excellent videos for writers on YouTube, by the way. CONSTANT PRINCESS at Philippa Gregory
Honestly, I can’t remember where I found this one. I was cleaning house and there it was in my piles of books. Not an uncommon experience for me. CURIOUS CHARMS OF ARTHUR PEPPER at Goodreads
It should be noted that I go to a lot of yard sales and thrift stores during the summer and may buy a new book and get swept away. That’s the fun of it! Also, I haven’t placed my Harlequin order yet and I do have a few books in another bag to go through.
This little beauty’s out today, in fact. Maybe another post on the topic of summer reading is needed! FLAPPER’S BABY SCANDAL at Harlequin
