Seriously. I’m asking. Haven’t got a clue.
Remember my summer round-up post when I explained how our backyard was ravaged by rutting quail? Quail Invasion
So our backyard is an abandoned mess and I really want to sit around the fire pit with a mug of hot cocoa and enjoy the scent of campfire and autumn leaves. I went searching for help and found The Southern Lady Magazine.
Isn’t there October issue gorgeous? That’s just what I’m looking for, an oasis of outdoorsy serenity. Well, almost, I want the table off to the side to hold the s’mores, hot chocolate, pumpkin pie, and stew. And I’d switch out the chairs for these Adirondack Chairs from Target.
Getting to Work
Sadly, my neighborhood doesn’t allow goats. They’re excellent at clearing weeds. My firepit area is covered with them. I need new sand, but I’m thinking maybe gravel would work better.
I love to learn new stuff and so I spend a lot of time on YouTube. Our firepit and seating area around it came with the house when we bought it, thank God. I mean that literally, thanks be to God. I really wanted a huge back yard with a firepit back when we were house-hunting. Our backyard firepit is so overgrown and messy I’m watching videos about getting started as part of learning how to fix it up. Here are a couple of my favorites-
Home Depot’s How to Build a Fire Pit
Thrift Diving’s How to Make a Fire Pit Seating Area
Good thing I already own the necessary rakes. Now, I only need a strategy to get my massive offspring out there to use them.
Now, let’s share links and support each other. Please remember the sites must be appropriate for my younger friends too. Thanks.
