Kinda makes me wonder what went into making such extraordinary  courage?

Some say hardship breeds bad people, but that hasn’t been my observation.

These young people grew up during the Great Depression.  Many others their age were denied entry into the service because they were malnourished or due to disability from diseases we now prevent with vaccine, like Polio.

Hardship makes good people better and bad people worse.
